Davis Alexander aims to stay perfect as Montreal seeks 11th straight win over Ottawa

Davis Alexander looks to extend a pair of gaudy win streaks on Saturday afternoon when the Montreal Alouettes complete a home-and-home set against the host Ottawa Redblacks.
Alexander improved to 10-0 to start his young CFL career after throwing for 240 yards and a touchdown in Montreal's 30-10 victory over Ottawa on Monday. The win also served as the 10th straight for the Alouettes over the Redblacks.
Should Montreal (9-7) continue its winning streak over Ottawa (4-12), the Alouettes would move into a tie with East Division-leading Hamilton (10-7) entering the final week of the regular season. Whoever finishes atop the East will secure a first-round bye and host the division final.
Alexander, however, is more concerned about improving his play.
"I didn't play very well," Alexander said, per the Montreal Gazette. "I don't have to be Superman all the time. I'm thankful we have the best defense and special teams in the league. I left some stuff out there. I missed a couple throws. There were a couple of things I could have done to extend drives and get our offense into rhythm early."
Montreal, which also breezed to a 39-18 victory over Ottawa in Week 2, hasn't lost to the Redblacks since dropping a 24-18 decision on Oct. 10, 2022.
While Alexander will be under center for the Alouettes, the Redblacks are turning to Tyrie Adams at quarterback with fellow passer Dustin Crum ruled out with a head injury.
Adams, 28, will make just his second start during the past four seasons with Ottawa. He has completed 31 of 49 passes for 412 yards with a touchdown and an interception in his CFL career.
"Tyrie will be starting at quarterback this week. It's a great opportunity for Tyrie," Redblacks coach Bob Dyce told TSN 1200. "He's looked good in practice. He has had the benefit of being around here for the last (four) years. He knows what we do offensively."
Ottawa, which has lost four in a row, has been eliminated from postseason contention for the fifth time in the last six seasons.
